Sunday Drive

Nothing is better than a Sunday drive....

....with this guy.....

.....and in such a beautiful location!

Sunday was fantastic!  We started off the morning by going to my parents ward to listen to them speak about the temple.  After sacrament JC and I headed home, took a power nap, and made a delicious lunch to go, jumped on Lucy, and up the canyon we went.

After a few hours we stopped at Provo River Falls to have our lunch and take a break.  What a beautiful place to see and so many people to watch! :)  Needless to say, it was great company with yummy lunch and a show!

When we started back on our ride, not too long after we were in a very wet and cold rain storm!  Go figure... rain is wet....  I just laughed as JC started to shake his head.  You see.  A few weeks prior he had made the comment that he should take me through a rain storm bike drive... cause it's awesome.  Assuming he was being sarcastic.  Either way.... definitely spent a good hour in the rain!

Luckily it didn't last too terribly long... but it was disappointing because the route we went on was amazing.  As the rain was pounding down on us we flew by a couple of lakes that were beautiful even through the rain drops rolling down my helmet.  We didn't stop to enjoy the scenery and only went faster to try and get out of the storm.  It was a lot of fun, nonetheless.

What we had planned to be a four our drive, ended up being closer to six hours.  Both of us were fighting the pain from our tailbones... which I swear mine got worse the closer we got to the house.  It was ready for a break!!

If anything... the rain storm made it so there will be more Sunday drives with sunny skies and even more pictures!

Lake Powell

Well, I can say that this vacation was unexpected- but so graciously accepted!  Carly asked if I'd go to Lake Powell with her since her wonderful husband, Jerry, would be out of town.  How could I say no to that?  A week with my amazing cousin and in such a fantastic location!  I'm grateful I was able to get work off and even more so for the time I had with family!

Each day Carly and I would ask what we wanted to do that day.  Usually our response was... "Swim to that rock, lay out, read a book, tred water, lay out, swim, enjoy a Diet Coke with a fresh lime, swim, lay out, go down the slide, read a book..."

Each day we had a new spot to swim too.  It was really funny.  I can say that this is the one vacation I went on and actually lost weight!  So much swimming and treading water.  Loved it!  When Monday morning rolled around and time to go back to work... it was horrible to have to wear clothes again, not see Carly, and I missed our glorious routine we established while at Powell!

The wonderful boyfriend has an awesome underwater camera.. we took advantage of it and used it while tubing, on the wave runners, going down the slide... you name it!

 Shower time!
 I love her!
 We all had matching shorts!

First jump off the house boat!  Scaaaaary!
I forgot my peanut butter... luckily the hotel we stayed at before getting on the houseboat the next day knew I was coming.. I stocked up on PB!
 Our awesome floaty matching kicks!
 Our view every day!

Cooling off in the beer cooler... it was perfect.
