Tandem Ride

What do you do when the weather is perfect for a bike ride for two?!

TANDEM RIDE!

Evil Kitty...

My friend asked if I would house sit and take care of her dogs while they went out of town for the night.  Lucky for me, they also ended up watching one of their friends cats for the weekend, which turned into me watching the cat also!

I asked Jessie if she'd want to have a night out with me and of course... Justin Beiber so we were both exciting for a girls night together!

I've never had a huge issues with cats and I used to adore them.. but that changed when I had to share a house with one 24/7.  I don't know what was with this kitty... but it was made of something different and it almost killed me!  OK... that's exaggerating a wee bit... but let me just make this more dramatic.

Upon arrival I let the kitty in the house, which I had to climb half way in her kennel to get the darn thing out, hold on to it tight so it wouldn't run away while we walked from the garage to inside the house and then when in the room down stairs, I let it go.  All within 2 minutes maybe.

As I was sitting there enjoying Bieber my eye started feeling funny.  I'm sure I rubbed it or tugged at an eye lash thinking something was in it.  Within a few minutes I finally give in and go look in a mirror.

EEEK!

There is a hive, my eye is all puffy and a once white eyeball is now red!

Never had this kind of reaction before!

So bed time came around for the animals and Wallie decided to come with me to get the kitty.  I didn't think anything of it since it's Wallie and he was always (well, usually) nice to the kitty I had before.  Although this black kitty- wanted nothing to do with Wallie.  So I grab the kitty and she's freaking out because of Wallie and eventually her claws dig into my arm and I throw her as the blood comes oozing out of two deep cuts!

The night ended with me and Jessie trying to get the kitty in its kennel with out touching it since we were both allergic to it.  She was taunting it with its little feather toys and trying to scoot it along.  It was hilarious watching her try to get the kitty in its box!

FIRE!

Last night a few of us got together for a little fire pit party.  We had it planned to watch a movie outside also... but thanks to Mother Nature that will be postponed until further notice. ;o)

Anyways, let me just get this out there that I had the best s'more of my life!  Earlier that day I had a brilliant idea of incorporating peanut butter into the s'more with avoiding chocolate..... NUTTER BUTTERS!

OH MY!!!  Putting that toasted marshmallow in the middle of a nutter butter..... INCREDIBLE!

I highly recommend it!

A few pictures of the night!

This may or may not be green tie.... (for all of you who asked!)

Friday!

Yesterday was full of all sorts of exciting events!

Started off at 4:00 AM with my mom coming in to say they were headed to the hospital because Lindsay was about to have her baby!  Two hours later I woke up to a picture of Baby Dylan Jason weighing in at 4lbs and 17 1/2 inches.  He's a tiny little guy!

Work was exciting.  One of the nurses brought us an chocolate cake just because.  One of the ladies could not get over how AMAZING it was.  She was hilarious to watch.  You'd think she had never had chocolate cake before!  So Gloria cuts her off her own big section and tells her to take it home with her.  So she states... if it's at her desk, she'll just eat it!  So I offered to 'Cake Sit' for her since I would have no temptation to eat this death by chocolate cake...

It was funny though- every time I'd come back to my desk little by little the cake would disappear.  I couldn't help but laugh each time I noticed more was missing until finally, I turned to check on it and it was all gone!

By the end of the day I get a text from my mom that says, "Our 'other' arrival has come.  5th Wheel and Father are doing good!"   My parents bought a new trailer and I think have been waiting a month or two for it to get in.  It finally came yesterday and my dad couldn't be happier!

So after going to visit baby Dylan in the hospital we had a dinner and a game night in the trailer, or Wild Cat, as we've been calling it!  Jake said he'd only come if Green Tie would bring pizza and cinnamon sticks since he was going to be coming from work.  When Green Tie asked what kind of pizza he wanted... Jake responds with:  Smiling Pepperoni, with blushing sausage cheeks, and blonde pineapple hair.  Ha!  And this is what we Green Tie came up with:

Perfect, right?!

Amber Lintz

Do to the unfortunate event (or is it fortunate?!) of someone leaving the family- a lot of my pictures have either been removed or replaced by old pictures.  For example:  Grandma has a wall with all her grandkids on it.  She replaced the couple picture with my senior picture.  I couldn't decide what was more depressing to see the couple picture or me with my butchered blonde hair at the ripe age of 17 in that terrible graduation dress.  So for the sake of still wanting to be represented- I had some pictures done.

I'm sure you have all seen them on facebook- but if not- here they are.  Also wanted to advertise for Amber Lintz because she is amazing.  All her pictures are always perfect and she is so fun to work with.  I actually went to high school with her!  So if you need a wonderful photographer... please call her!!

Buhler... Buhler...

I'm really only doing this so I stop hearing.... "I'm really tired of looking at the smoke alarm!" Quote- Arlene Buhler.   Apparently it's getting on her nerves I haven't blogged... and I've heard it from a few of you too!  So I apologize!!

I'm glad to say the lack of blogging has been due to a lot of late nights spent with the opposite sex.  Haha!

Here's an update... then hopefully I'll stay on top of blogging like I did while unemployed... oh those were the days!

Work is going great.  I love it.  I love the atmosphere, the people, my cubie, and everything about it.  There is hardly a dull moment in the office.  Today we celebrated "Inter-galactic day.  MAY the FOURTH be with you!"  Dr. Fairbanks is HUGE into Star Wars so he came in today with Yoda and Storm Trooper sugar cookies and a pan of brownies with Darth Vador and little figurines on it.  Haha!  He wasn't too impressed when I called out... "TO INFINITY AND BEYOND!"  followed by  "BEAM ME UP, SCOTTY!".... Let's just say my Star Wars knowledge is not the best... :o)

--------

I can officially say that I am a Buhler again.  As of May 2nd it's a done deal.  Not even going to explain the stressful morning of changing my name, but it was worth every little fret.  Followed by a crazy morning it was instantly fixed when a knock came on the door by a cute boy.  We had plans to go see the Carl Bloch artwork at BYU.  Very beautiful paintings!

After Carl Bloch we drove around lost for a bit, picked up Rumbi and went to a park to eat it.  It was such a pretty park and perfect park weather!  I'm lovin' this warm sunshine coming our way!!

Wallie and I are doing great.  I'm the happiest I have been and loving life so much!  I can honestly say this was the best decision and I know I'm where I need to be and things will only get better from here.  I'm so thankful for all of you who have stood by my side with nothing but love and support for whatever way I went.  I think we all know I went the right way! :o)

Smoke Alarm

In our house, the smoke alarm going off is not uncommon. I remember in our house in West Jordan it went off more than it didn't and soon it became a familiar sound or a warning to grab a towel to fan the light smoke away or to blow out some of the dust in the alarm cover. I don't think we ever went running grabbing our personal and keep sakes to save before running out the front door in a panic.

Usually it was more, rolling over in bed to throw a pillow over your head or trying to avoid the high pitch shriek of the alarm.

I tell you all this because the other morning as I was in the shower, the smoke alarm went off. My first thought was, “Should I wash the shampoo out of my hair first or jump out now?” As I continued to finish my shower routine and casually looking out behind the curtain to see if flames were bursting under the door yet, I thought; “This is a good comparison to the warnings we hear from the Prophet.”

Just like the smoke alarm, warning us of danger, it's our choice to wash the shampoo out first or to jump out and take all precautions. Even if it is a false alarm.

Our family, friends, Bishop, leaders, the scriptures, the Prophet and the Ensign are there to protect and warn us of the dangers in our lives. It's our choice to follow those warnings or to turn away and say, “Oh, there is no danger. I have nothing to worry about.”

What what happens when a real fire does start and the alarm goes off? What do you do then? You've heard the warnings before but you chose not to listen. You brushed it aside thinking it wouldn't do you any good and you put it off and now when it's the time to act- your not sure what to do.

President Henry B Eyring says:
'We will need to have developed and nurtured faith in Jesus Christ long before Satan hits us, as he will, with doubts and appeals to our carnal desires and with lying voices saying that good is bad and that there is no sin. Those spiritual storms are already raging. We can expect that they will worsen until the Savior returns.

'However much faith to obey God we now have, we will need to strengthen it continually and keep it refreshed constantly. We can do that by deciding now to be more quick to obey and more determined to endure. Learning to start early and to be steady are the keys to spiritual preparation. Procrastination and inconsistency are its mortal enemies.”

As President Eyring explained, because the current storms will only increase, our current level of preparation also needs to increase. The secret to our success is to be consistent and to start early.”

I love that. We are constantly warned that we need to prepare now and stay on the straight and narrow. I know I haven't always been perfect, but more then ever, I find the time each day to read my scriptures, say my prayers and go to the temple weekly. Just those few changes in my life I have noticed a huge difference in my life.

I testify that the scriptures are the perfect place to turn to for answers, guidance, and strength in our lives. If ever a time to listen to the smoke alarm... it's now. Opening your scriptures for 5 minutes a day will change your day immensely.

President Marion G. Romney said if we prayerfully and regularly read the Book of Mormon, 'The spirit of that great book will come to permeate our homes and all who dwell therein. The spirit of reverence will increase; mutual respect and consideration for each other will grow. The spirit of contention will depart... Faith, hope, and charity- the pure love of Christ- will abound in our homes and lives.”
